Jim Christensen
Please welcome back Director Jim Christensen for his second year at Camp Claire!
Jim previously worked as the director of a boy scout summer camp for five years. During the off-season he is a middle school teacher, the athletic director at his school, and coaches various teams including basketball and Ultimate Frisbee. He holds a Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction and resides in Meriden, CT with his family.
Camp Administrator/Registrar/Board of Directors Co-Secretary
Lisa Gaskin
Lisa will be returning for her 11th summer as Camp Administrator/Registrar. She previously served on Camp Claire’s Board of Directors from 2013 to 2019. For 2024 she returned to the Board of Directors as Co-Secretary.
Lisa’s grandparents owned a summer cottage on Oakland Avenue and that is where, at the age of 7, her love of Camp Claire began. She transferred that love to her son by sending him off to our residential camp at 7 years old. He hasn’t missed a summer in 17 years, a true testament to the Camp Claire magic!
Lisa holds a BS in Elementary Education from Pace University as well as an MSE in Elementary Education from Long Island University.
Camp Claire is Lisa’s happy place, and she is always striving to share this hidden gem where kids truly can just be kids.
Assistant Director
Matt Gaskin
Matt started coming to Camp Claire at 7 years old. Over the last 17 years he has been a camper, completed our LIT and CIT programs, been on staff as a Junior Counselor, Senior Counselor, Kitchen Staff, Fishing Director, Sailing Director, Waterfront Director, Assistant Chef and Aquatics Director. This summer he joins us as Assistant Camp Director.
In the off-season Matt attends Rochester Institute of Technolgy and works at one of the biggest gaming stores in the country. His hobbies include guitar, photography, and his spoiled rotten, Lynx Point Siamese cat, Zeus.
