Camp Claire’s COVID-19 Updates

May 1, 2020

Dear Camp Claire Campers and Families,

I hope that you are all staying safe, happy, and healthy as we all navigate these unprecedented times. Over the past couple of months, the Camp Claire Board and Administrative Team have been working collaboratively to determine how we can best serve our community this summer.

With a heavy heart, the Camp Claire Board has made the difficult decision not to open Camp for the 2020 season due to the Covid-19 situation. We are taking this step so that we can continue to prioritize the safety of our campers, staff, and families. This decision was made with careful consideration, as we did consider all possible avenues to open Camp this summer.

Camp Claire plays a vital role in the lives of our campers, staff, and families. We have begun to evaluate how we can offer Camp Claire programming in new and innovative ways this summer so our campers can stay connected to their summer friends, and Camp traditions. We will be sharing more information about our free-of-cost virtual Camp Claire engagements and activities for this summer in the next couple of weeks. Families will also be receiving an email today regarding refunds.

This situation brings about unique challenges for all of us. This summer will not look like summers that have come before, or any summers that will come again. We must support each other as we face new challenges; we will get through this together!

We are looking forward to returning to Camp in 2021, and seeing everyone next summer!

To share this news with our campers, families, and community, we have made an announcement video that can be viewed at: https://youtu.be/hGWG5wa8R9w.

Dear Camp Claire Community,

Spring is here and we are looking forward to the upcoming camping season! We recognize that the existing COVID-19 pandemic is a challenge for both families and the extended Camp Community and to that effect the Camp Claire Administration and Board of Directors are here to provide support and updates as the situation unfolds.

At this time, the risk in the community in which we are located is still being assessed at a very low level but we are working proactively in conjunction with local Health and Government Officials to keep apprised of the situation as well as remain informed on current and ever changing guidelines in response to the outbreak. We are committed to informing our community of any new health information, and will notify you immediately if our local public health authority believes that the risk has changed.

At the same time, we are re-evaluating and enhancing our policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy camp environment. You can expect to hear updates via email.

The following sources have the most current information on how you can protect your family right now:
