Where?
Where is Camp Claire?
Camp Claire sits on ten wooded acres atop the beautiful Hamburg Cove in Lyme, truly a breathtaking view. Our campers enjoy the surrounding natural beauty in a variety of ways: canoeing/kayaking trips up the peaceful, picturesque Eight Mile River, picnicking day trips out to the historic Connecticut River, watching the bald eagles, hawks, cormorants, and blue herons feed, and become immersed in the quiet serenity.
Where do we sleep?
Camp Claire is intentionally small and holds special concern for the
unique gifts and individual needs of each camper. Nowhere is this
more evident than in the residential cabins. Past campers often
remember their ‘cabin friendships and camaraderie’ as their most vivid
memory of Camp Claire. Counselors maintain a safe, fun, and
peaceful setting where friendships begin and campers rest. Both
the boys and girls cabins enjoy wooded views of the cove and wake up to
the sounds of birds singing and squirrels scurrying.
